The Xbox Series X Reveal occurred at the 2019 Video Game Awards.
In a time when most video game news is leaked, it was a true pleasure that the Xbox Series X Announcement was a surprise. Many of us sat down to enjoy the 2019 Video Game awards only to be treated with the much anticipated Xbox Series X trailer.
XBox Series X
I've got to say I really like this. From the name to the aesthetic. In all honesty to date I've not been too excited about all the Xbox scarlet news that was coming out. A lot of the Xbox Series X reaction so far has focused on the size and shape. Claiming that the Xbox Series X dimensions are too big and awkward. Although it does bear a striking resemblance to a PC tower. I think it’s going to be more like a Google assistant.
Xbox Series X Release Date
We didn’t hear anything about the Xbox Series X price or any update to the Xbox Series X specs.
However we did get an indication of the release date and get a glimpse at the Xbox Series X controller.
The Xbox Series X Controller also comes with some small changes, most notably the D Pad using the same style as the Xbox One Elite Series 2 controller. This makes sense that the best of the improvements Microsoft have made to their controller technology should be present in the next generation.
Xbox Series X Gameplay
Alongside the name and console reveal Microsoft also gave us a taster at the raw graphical power of the Xbox Series X in the form of one of the Xbox Series X Games, Hellblade sequel Senuas Saga Hellblade 2. All footage is in engine and it just goes to show how powerful the next generation consoles are going to be with ray tracing technology.
As I said earlier I'm much more of a PlayStation kind of guy. Xbox Series X vs PS5 is going to be a really interesting battle. The Xbox Series X console is actually looking a lot better than I thought it would.
