Tony Hawk's Pro Skater Remastered has been confirmed! Bringing Tony Hawk's Pro Skater and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 into the 4K Generation.
Tony Hawk's Remake
The Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 release date is set to be September 4th 2020. The remaster promises to bring back all the amazing thrills and excitement of the original Tony Hawks games. Activision are bringing Tony Hawks Pro Skater 1 and 2 to the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
Activision will also be adding some new features including online play and a course builder. The remastered collection will also feature updated visuals; all of the original levels, characters, and tricks; extra challenges; ability to share custom skate parks online; as well as local multiplayer. On top of that, the games will include “the vast majority” of the iconic THPS soundtracks, though not every song made it due to licensing issues.
The Tony Hawks Remaster will be handled by Vicarious Visions of the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy as well as the great THPS portable version as well as history with the Skate franchise.
THPS 1 & 2 Changes
The new THPS Remaster will for the most part keep the same core as the original, in terms of how controls and structure. What will be different is the meta game of the two titles together. That means players will be able to dip in and out of both titles, and in doing so will unlock pieces for the online park creator mode.
Tony Hawks Pro Skater
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater was the 3-D skating game that was infused with a heavy amount punk rock and ska music. THPS had you in control of a variety of famous skateboarders completing missions by performing skateboarding tricks and collecting objects. The game offered several modes of gameplay, including a career mode, a free-play mode and a local multi-player. THPS was a genre defining game and a perfect example of it's generation.
Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2
THPS 2 improved on the original with updated graphics and gameplay. The sequel also added in a level editor that allows the player to create customized levels. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 was critically acclaimed upon release and is considered one of the highest-rated video games of all time, as well as the highest-rated sports video game.
