There are many reasons behind my thoughts. From the superb story telling by Hideo Kojima and Fukushima to the superb game art by Yoji Shinkawa. All underpinned by a hauntingly captivating soundtrack by the Konami sound team. However there is another reason behind my belief that Metal Gear Solid 1 is the greatest video game ever made. That is the thoughts, emotions and feelings during the experience. In this Metal Gear Solid Retrospective I want to take on a journey of why MGS is a masterpiece and the experience of discovering it for the first time.
