Local conventions are some of our favorite events to visit and cover. We enjoy getting footage of the floor, showing off pickups, and checking out various panels to share a little insight as to what you can expect from these shows. Our local Library Center puts on a convention to showcase area authors and artists as well as creators and a myriad of fandoms. In 2019 they also held an Artist Challenge Panel hosted by and put on by some of their guest talent.
Artist Challenge Panel
It's simple enough--the artists are given a theme of something to draw and have a limited amount of time to do so, then the decision is made for which is the best!
This year's Library Con Artist Challenge Panel was hosted by THE Cullen Bunn an award-winning writer for Image, Oni Press, Marvel Comics, Dark Horse, and DC Comics. He was putting to the test the skills of such artists as Gary Bedell, Eric Shanower, Kyle Strahm and the Champion Comics sisters Maia and Luna Cooper.
Expect to see everything from "Cereal Killers" to grisly portents of the post-apocalyptic world as well as what ghastly horrors may be found hidden deep below and in the dark.
