The Game Boy Color is the predecessor to the original Game Boy and forms part of the Game Boy family.
Gameboy Color Backlight
Released in 1998, the GBC broke new ground for Nintendo by being the first Nintendo handheld. The only real downside was that there was no Gameboy Color Backlight. Meaning once again young gamers had to play in the sunlight or find themselves a Gameboy Color light! Although once again the quality of the Game Boy Color games catalogue meant the Gameboy Color was a huge success.
